Application Challenges
Whole-slide imaging (WSI) digitizes biological tissue sections at high resolution, enabling precise analysis of tissue structures and cellular morphology. Modern high-throughput scanning can cover entire slide areas in a single experiment, capturing multiscale information from nuclei to tissue-level structures. WSI plays a pivotal role in pathology diagnostics, drug development, and large-scale histological studies.
Because tissue sections are large, structurally complex, and often involve multiple staining or fluorescence labels, high-throughput scanning systems impose demanding requirements on imaging devices: Large FOV format, high resolution, high-speed acquisition, and accurate color reproduction. Furthermore, quantitative precision must be ensured to meet the rigorous standards of professional pathology analysis.
