Fuzhou, China — March 2025 — Tucsen Photonics today announced the launch of the Gemini 8K TDI, its next-generation high-speed TDI-sCMOS camera designed to meet the rigorous performance and reliability demands of advanced semiconductor inspection and precision scientific imaging.

The Gemini 8K TDI builds on Tucsen’s proven TDI-sCMOS technology platform, integrating a 100G CoF high-speed interface and a 1 MHz @ 8K line-rate architecture to achieve next-level data throughput and imaging efficiency.

 

Combined with thermoelectric sensor cooling for stable 0 °C operation, the system delivers superior signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), uniformity, and long-term reliability — providing a high-throughput, low-noise imaging solution for demanding industrial inspection environments.

1 MHz @ 8K: Double the Data Throughput

Delivering twice the data throughput of its predecessor, the Gemini 8K TDI achieves a 1 MHz line rate at full 8K resolution in 8-bit and 10-bit modes, and 500 kHz in 12-bit mode for higher dynamic range imaging.

 

This leap in performance enables faster, more detailed image capture — significantly accelerating industrial inspection workflows.

Broad-Spectrum and UV-Enhanced Sensitivity

For nanoscale manufacturing and defect detection, UV imaging has become indispensable.
The Gemini 8K TDI features a broad spectral response from 180 nm to 1100 nm, achieving a peak quantum efficiency (QE) of 93.4% in the visible range, 63.9% QE at 266 nm, and 58% at 355 nm.

 

These optimizations deliver superior defect detection efficiency, shorter exposure times, and higher SNR imaging across a wide range of materials.

Broad-Spectrum and UV Enhancement

High-Bandwidth 100G CoF Interface

As one of the first TDI cameras to feature a 100G CoF (Chip-on-Flex) interface, the Gemini 8K TDI achieves 100 Gbps data throughput via a single high-speed interconnect.

 

This architecture reduces PCB routing complexity and minimizes connector-induced signal loss, enhancing overall system stability, signal integrity, and integration flexibility for inspection systems requiring ultra-high-speed data transmission.

0°C Stable Cooling for Precision Uniformity

In precision inspection, even grayscale variations of just 1–2 DN can impact measurement accuracy.

 

The Gemini 8K TDI employs active thermoelectric cooling to maintain a stable 0°C sensor temperature, ensuring low-noise performance and a uniform imaging background.

 

This enables consistent quantitative data acquisition across extended inspection runs — a critical advantage in semiconductor and scientific imaging workflows.
